Old Man River

There was just a fantastic programme about the Mississippi on BBC2 by Kenny Salwey, a "River Rat", i.e. someone who lives at and from the river and its sorrounding ecosystem. Very informative, beautifully photographed and almost poetically narrated. The soundtrack of haunting Old Time Jazz, Mississippi Delta Blues, Cajun and Bluegrass was just the icing on the cake.
Wonderful TV.

Just saw that myself. I did chuckle at the acoustic version of Alabama 3's “Woke Up This Morning” in amidst all the far older songs.
