Shakespeare virgin, that is. I thoroughly enjoyed the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at Girton College (Cambridge Shakespeare Festival). Fabulously acted, you didn't even have to understand the dialogue properly.
Oberon was a punk in a suit, the Puck was female, short, bouncy and very bendy, <gruff voice>Helena</gruff voice> was a voluptuous redhead who reminded me of[livejournal.com profile] greebotrill, Hermia was gorgeous, Titiana was a long-legged stunner and the rest were all fantastic in their own way, like the camp playwright.
Girton College gardens with the huge tree as backdrop made a nice venue as well.
In short, almost three hours of fantastic fun.

As I got there, I spotted [livejournal.com profile] the_mendicant and her daughter, er, [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke who graciously left me one of their seats. We chatted a bit, then [livejournal.com profile] elise and [livejournal.com profile] suzerain turned up and joined the fun.
The weather had nicely cooled down with a refreshing breeze.
Now I only need to get that coolness into my place. Too bad I only have windows on one side and can't really create a draft. I need two industrial fans to suck out all the hot air and then to blow the cool air in...

The Shawshank Redemption had already started when I came in, it's still a good enough film to watch half way through. Probably the best Stephen King adaption (Pin Up), closely followed by Stand By Me (The Body), both from Different Seasons.
