Had a good time at the House of Leaves (Hm, House of Fluff would be more adequate ;op), thank you to everyone involved.
owdbetts kindly gave me a lift and we made reasonable good time on the Bedford/Milton Keynes route, stopped over at the Sainsbury's for picking up BBQing food, not getting lost once until we were in Berinsfield where we went the wrong way around but got there eventually.
Quite a few people actually there:
dreamingchristi, obviously,
j4 and
sion_a,
mobbsy with a Canon EOS 300 Digital (bastard!),
andrewdavies, Alexa (LJ?) and two girls whose names I don't remember, followed by Mike with a horrible, but fitting orange tie. Whoops, I forgot
inskauldrak.
The weather was great, the garden pleasant so we got the BBQs going. I had bought some lamb steaks and very quickly stuffed them with bits of garlic, seasoned with salt and pepper and rubbed with olive oil. They needed some time in the fridge, really, but we didn't have that time. Still, they were good.
I had made a generous bowl of Dippadoom which had vanished completely this morning. Cool.
There were other lovely things like various burgers made by
andrewdavies, sausages and whatnot.
Later, the landlady in the shape of
lanfykins actually arrived, accompanied by
aardnebby.
After everyone was sated and it had become a bit chilly outside we went inside to watch the Look Around You DVD, accompanied by some prope Sulphagne (yum!). I need this DVD now! :o)
More people arrived:
riksowden, Reuben and girlfriend, someone called John and really late at night
nevecat,
pure_simon and
teknostatik, which was nice.
After various conversations about different things, more BrassedEye was watched until we finally rolled up in our sleeping bags a bit after 2.
Slept reasonably well, got up, and joined some other early birds (a bit before 9) for chats and breakfast. A very pleasant party in all.
A bit after 12, we hit the road again, this time on the route
j4 suggested (via Northampton and the A14), which worked better than the one we took on the way there.
Thank you very much to
owdbetts for the lift, muchly appreciated, even if your stereo ate my Tanzwut CD...
