Die Fabrik
6 May 2004 02:52 amSo this was it. It wasn't a big, not even a little success but it was better than it could have been.
There were people we've never seen before (like the two random cybers), people from the Calling and closer friends.
poetman should have the full numbers but I reckon it was about 30odd in total. Not too bad for a first night on a weekday, methinks.
However, except for the trendies who left rather quickly again or didn't even come in (when they saw
devalmont in a skirt) everybody seems to have liked it so we're thinking about doing it again. I'm definitely up for it.
The music selection was fantastic, from reasonably well known tracks to the obscure (well, maybe not to
sogoth) covering electronica of various harshness. The full playlist will be available as soon as we've typed it up, mine follows below.
Now the thanks:
-
razornet,
sogoth and
angelustenebris for being our wonderful guest DJs, the latter two driving up from Reading for the occasion
-
andrewdavies for doing the door most of the night
-
scylla for posting an ad for it on netgoth, as that brought us at least two customers (must remember to sign up for that)
- all the people who came and supported us.
It wasn't that successful in terms of turnout but the people who came enjoyed themselves and will be back (or so they said), that's definitely encouragement to keep going. We'll see.
My setlist:
Eisbrecher - Polarstern
Das Ich - Kindgott
Nitzer Ebb - Murderous
Die Krupps - Machinery of Joy
Cubanate - Body Burn (Beeston 7" mix)
Aslan Faction - Tight Grip (slaave desolution remix)
Tactical Sekt - Soulless
P•A•L - Gelöbnis (Terrorfakt remix)
mono no aware - stimme nord
Ah Cama Sotz - Narbukh (Mimetic remix)
This Morn' Omina - Epoch
Totakeke - Lament (Imminent Remix)
KOMPRESSOR - Shiny Happy People
And I was good and only played one obscure track (Totakeke)
I slowly seem to get the hang of this DJing thing. The set was pretty much improvised as quite a few tracks/artists I orginally had planned were played before (*shakes fist at
poetman for playing Rotersand and the track I wanted to play, although I would have played the remix*) and the mixing went reasonably well, especially between Epoch and Lament. I didn't even hear myself where one track ended and the next began...

Date: 8/5/04 07:51 am (UTC)Think I might try to come along if there is another one. All depends on if I can get the money to come up from London again on the night it happens. Thought it was a pretty good night. Don't think I'm likely to come up again too soon though, but definately will be at some point.
