Last night I thought, hm, the exhaust sounds a bit dodgy, I need to have that looked at but I got home too late to consult my mechanic neighbour (neighbouring mechanic? mechanic next door? You know what I mean). When I drove to work this morning, it sounded distinctly wobbly and when I drove home tonight, I lost it. Well, the muffler came off. The problem is, it's still attached by a piece of metal which means it's dangling on the ground which obviously isn't good. Don't want to disturb neighbour now so I'll walk to work tomorrow and ask him tomorrow evening to have a look. Maybe he can weld it back on again or at least take it off so I can drive to a garage.

Then I got into the house, switched on the light in the kitchen and the bulb blew.

What's wrong with my stuff at the moment. Grrrrr.

Hmm, aa friend of mine had a similar problem with his exhaust- in the first instance he tied it back with a leather shoelace, then, when that had burned through, he got a coathanger stapled to his car to hold up the exhaust. Admittedly that was done in a dodgy garage in the Bronx though...

If I'm feeling really awake tomorrow morning, I might have a go and try to remove the dangling bugger but knowing me I won't and then walk to work and talk to my neighbour in the evening.
