Lost in Translation

Although I haven't been to Japan myself, I think that the film is a rather accurate portrayal of Japan and how lost Westerners feel there. The fact that no subtitles were used only emphasized this (there wouldn't be any subtitles in real life, either).
The plot itself is basic but not the main part of the movie, anyway. The characters and the situations they find themselves in are far more important and were portrayed brilliantly.
