[Octaine] More detailed post
12 Mar 2004 12:50 pmFirst of all, a great big thank you to everybody who turned up and helped out with flyerin and door duty on the night.
We had 50+ people through the door which was not bad at all.
Second thanks to the superb guest DJs:
naranek with a nice selection of classic metal, old Prog Rock, a bit of Goth and some really nice Blues
blackmetalbaz with various heavy harsh metally things (I didn't know any of it)
Setlists not before Sunday, I'm afraid as I won't have the time to decipher and put them up.
The plan of flyering people as they left the Commitments gig failed because the apparently the gig was really shit and many people had left halfway through. Paul and
crag_du said that the venue had emptied within five minutes. Bum.
Still, people danced quite a lot through
andrewdavies',
dj_slingshot's and my set and moshed to
blackmetalbaz'.
Playing a set when the tracks are well under three minutes on average is quite stressful as you can't think much about what to play next. Good thing I had made a plan before. ;o) The Funk half of the set was easier as the tracks were longer.
The bass in Bow Wow by Johnny Guitar Watson grooved so much, I was quite impressed with the Kambar sound system.
I really don't want to be at work right now as I'm knackered and can't see properly (I sometimes get this).
Full Tilt tonight, possibly a trip to Camden on Saturday, no games, back early and an early night with lots of sleep. *nods*
