Johnny Cash died last night, aged 71.

As many others, my first contact with Country Music were his songs like "Ring of Fire", "Ghostriders in the Sky", "Folsom Prison Blues", "I Walk the Line" and "Boy named Sue". I drifted away from it quickly to listen more to people like Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and "modern" artists like Dwight Yoakam, The Judds and, of course, Steve Earle, but hearing his songs now and then is very touching, not the least his recent cover of the NiN song "Hurt" which should send shivers down everybody's spine.

I debated buying his latest album for a while and I now definitely will, it's worth it for Hurt alone.

People who are at the next Octaine, expect a little hommage.
