Quiet Saturday and Sunday but then I had a fantastic time at the Springsteen gig yesterday. Got there a bit before 2pm, waited a long time in the queue til the gates were opened (was No 883), wasn't searched at all, jogged along and made it to the position I wanted, straight in the centre, right in front of the mixer tent, with a barrier to lean against and perfect sound.
Three more hours of waiting and then the best three hours of music I've ever had the pleasure of hearing live. Wow, just ... wow. Tears of joy were streaming down my face at various occasions. The crowd was fantastic and sang along to pretty much all the songs (and I was about average age). Full setlist and comments to follow.
[livejournal.com profile] borusa, you missed a fantastic concert.
Then the bad bit: It started at 7:20, so was over 10:20, I was relatively far at the front so had a long way to go back. A huge queue for the station in which I spent another hour at least. Got the second from last train (I very much hope everyone got away). Got to East Croydon, waited another 40 minutes, got to London Bridge at 00:30. Obviously no more tubes, so taxi to EvilHQ.
Short chat with [livejournal.com profile] zenmeisterin and [livejournal.com profile] bringeroflight (who had State Trooper on his playlist for some reason), trying to sleep which was thwarted by the songs, images and emotions still going through my head, and the stupid glass doors of EvilHQ (bloody bright light outside the front door). Fell asleep eventually but couldn't have gotten more than three hours sleep when Isi's phone woke me up at 6:30. Got up, bought breakfast at Starbuck's, caught 7:45 train, waited a long time for the bus which then took a long time due to the roadworks at Mitchams Corner, had shower, changed and got into work at 10:30.
