Viktoria Modesta is not only a model but also a singer/songwriter. Check out her website for a few samples (warning for those of you at work, the music starts playing immediately when you allow scripts/flash).
The most fascinating bit about her for me was her wonderfully sculpted hair. Apparently, it's very easy to do but I guess everything is when you know how to do it.

Very nice!

I love the lighting in that last one. That "lit from both sides" look is often used in, for example, comicbook art but I seldom see it in photos. Are both sides natural light?

Only the fill from the front (i.e. behind the camera) is natural, from the window which provided full sunlight at the time so had a large diffuser placed in the frame to soften the light. The other light sources are two beauty dishes from both sides of the model.

Because with essentially black and white subject matter the difference in exposure can look very interesting.
