Saturday
Slept in longer than intended and thus was a bit late for the ling game as I had to do some shopping first.
The game was small and different as we went off on a quest (death ducks, aliens and zombies, don't ask) for a change.
Went home, dropped off stuff, made a snack and picked up [livejournal.com profile] andrewdavies and [livejournal.com profile] zenmeisterin to go to Reading.
The drive there went without a hitch until we got to Reading proper and we couldn't find a way to match the map from the Blacklight site to the actual road layout. The poor signposting in Reading obviously didn't help. I guess after half an hour we finally found the correct road and parked in the big car park. Much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] andrewdavies for his navigation efforts.
Went along Oxford Road, picked up some cash and split up because Andy and Isi wanted chicken and I Singapore. While I was standing outside the takeaway munching my noodles, two blokes came up to me and asked me if I wanted to by some sirloin steaks (they had a white plastic bag with a styrofoam box in it). I've been offered many things on the street before, just not meat.
Found the Boxing Club with [livejournal.com profile] pinkalexx at the door. The main room was basically a gym which gave it a bit of a school disco feeling but that wasn't so bad. The sound system was quite good (only one set of speakers, though) and not too loud and the light worked for me as well.
When I stored my stuff in a corner, [livejournal.com profile] sogoth came up to me and asked me if I were Ozzy. Great, now I can even go somewhere where I haven't been before without being recognised. ;o)
Just a handful of people there to start with but it picked up later. The only other people we knew were [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona and YNG Martin. There was an interesting mix of people, from trad goth, via normal people, a couple of punks/metalers and very few full-on cybers.
The music provided by [livejournal.com profile] sogoth and IrishDave was just as varied, from harsh electro and industrial, to EBM (not too much, though), to 80's cheese (Frankie, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode etc.) a bit of rock and punk and ending again on Industrial/EBM.
Slowly made our way out when the lights came up and got on our way. Again thanks to Andy for navigating out of Reading (I'll get to know the place eventually). Then it was just plain sailing with a short break at a service station.
After dropping off Isi and Andy, finally got home at 4:30 and collapsed into my bed.

Sunday
Got up at 2 and just mooched around all day, doing the photos, watching Star Trek, eating, watching more TV, chatting online, making a quick dinner (pasta with pesto and tuna) and watching Aliens.
