Now, who wants to grab the licence and bring a real GenCon back to the UK, at a cool and comfy University site?

Frankly, at this point, who needs the licence? It's not like this year's event really made everyone think "wow, that was so cool, these people really know how to run a convention"...

True.
Then again, someone might pick it up and say "Do you want a GenCon as it was in the olden days? Let's do it."
The license would only cover the name, I suspect.

Maybe John Brown will try again. He failed with his alternative project but as long as GenCon was there it was doomed to fail.
I can imagine that old ex-TSR people might consider it but I'm a bit out of touch since pretty much everybody left Cambridge.
