Mm, Alex Cox and various other indie-cinema people have made the same argument against the UKFC.

Somehow, though, I don't think the govt have abolished it for that reason. So it seems unlikely that the consequence will be a new stream of funding for less-commercial British film -- Tories being notoriously unfond of such. More likely, funding will just be removed altogether.

Yes, considering the abolition of the Health Protection Agency incorporating the Radiological Protection Board is however completely fucking bonkers of an "omg we are all going to die" variety.
