It's also very long (150odd minutes) but doesn't feel like it.
Oddly enough, it's not very Tarantino, except for a few typical set pieces. Actually, the most typical Tarantino bit was the choice of music.
I went into it with some trepidation because I thought Tarantino would play on the typical American Nazi film with all its horrible movie-German stereotypes - but he didn't. Casting all German characters with actual German actors certainly helped (incl. Til Schweiger and Daniel Brül who was cast utterly against type as a Nazi war hero). My favourite certainly was Christoph Waltz as the evil Col. Hans Landa who was a bigger bastard than the actual basterds.
As I said above, it wasn't very Tarantino. In fact, it was rather German, in places cringeworthily so, especially the dialogues. He seems to have done his homework in that regard.
It's not overly graphically violent like other Tarantino stuff and it as a few good funny moments although not that many.
Overall, not disappointing and better than Death Proof on all counts.
