First, I waited half an hour for a bus that's scheduled every 10 minutes, then there was no King'sX service again (that I had known). On the train it was announced that there was no Victoria Line service so I had to go all the way to Liverpool St. Meanwhile it was clear that there was no point in trying to meet [livejournal.com profile] ginasketch at Piccadilly Circus for lunch so we decided to meet at the O2. Then, there was no Jubiliee Line, either so I had to take a replacement bus. Thankfully, our tickets for 2:30 were good for 3:30 and we could take in the Bodyworlds & The Mirror of Time exhibition. It is utterly fascinating and I recommend it to anyone who's interested in how our body works and what effects time and disease have on it. However, it's also not for the squeamish, especially the exhibits of foetuses and diseased body parts. The giraffe is just mind-blowing.
Not being squeamish at all, we went for a lovely meal at Thai Silk straight afterwards. The "event special menu" consisted of a starter selection (fish and corn cakes, satay skewers etc.) and a main (King Prawn Panang Koong for me and a sweet/sour chicken dish for [livejournal.com profile] ginasketch). Really nice food and not too expensive considering the location.
A few photos (sadly not of the exhibition, which would have been cool):

Afterwards, we crammed into a stuffed replacement bus back to West Ham and then thankfully an almost empty tube to Liverpool St where I managed to hop straight onto the Cambridge train just before it departed. I even found a seat. The advantage of the long train journeys was that I managed to read a big junk of Terry Pratchett's Nation, which is wonderful.
