Fennely goodness
8 May 2008 10:24 pmI had a bulb of fennel in my veg box and wasn't quite sure what to do with it, if at all. I have a bad fennel memory from a dish my mum made once which tasted (and made the house smell) like a cough drop. The smell was quite strong as I sliced it but after I'd fried it in olive oil and butter (seasoned with a little salt and pepper) it was really nice. I had some creamed cabbage and potatoes, too.
