- Cooked a lovely tasting but uninteresting looking ratatouilleish dish (courgettes, leeks, onions, garlic, chopped tomatoes in a slightly spicy tomato sauce) and eaten half of it
- Finished the Dark Movie Quiz with lots of help from you guys. Thanks
- seen Crank which is cool, fast, light action entertainment but I'm afraid hardly the awesome ride [livejournal.com profile] raggedhalo wants to make us think. It has some good stunts and several laugh out loud funny moments but it's one of those films with lots of cross cut, speed up/slow down, close-up editing that annoys me. Disappointingly unlike other Statham films, there weren't any crazy karate/martial arts stunts, just running, jumping and lots of gun-ho.
I didn't fall asleep because it didn't get boring but I can go to sleep now without any problems.
Oh, and those of you who are into naked men's arses, you see quite a lot of Statham's (long escape sequence in a hospital gown), which was a bit much for me but we got a bit of Amy Smart's and there were babes in plexiglass bubbles, too so it was nicely balanced.
Oh, the soundtrack is quite fun, too, it's been a long time since I last heard Loverboy's Turn me Loose. ;o)

As I was driving down Arbury Road I thought something was strange with the pedestrian lights ahead. Coming nearer, I realised they were both red and green...

1. On Wednesday, the Hamster crashes a crazy car in reasonably controlled conditions while undoubtedly being aware of the possible risks involved. However, it was his own decision to take that risk and he didn't endanger anyone else and definitely not the public. He was seriously injured but is on his slow way of recovery. Despite this, there are calls for the BBC to scrap Top Gear because it "promotes obsession with speed and acceleration".

2. Today, the Transrapid crashed on its German test track (mainly used as a tourist attraction) into a maintenance vehicle and 15 people die (so far, there's little hope for the rest of the 21 passengers now). None of the passengers on that train had any control over their journey and as far as they (or any routine journey) was concerned, there were no risks in taking that journey. There will be an investigation and those responsible will be held responsible but I doubt very much that this will be the end of the Transrapid (which is quite fast, too), neither the existing commercial track in China nor any of those planned around the world.

Both were accidents, presumably caused by human failure.
