More simple Yum! and other updates
7 Jan 2006 09:39 pmThis time pasta with sauce:
1 can of chopped tomatoes, 1 half onion, 2 fat gloves of garlic, two mild chillies, 1 can of anchovies, salt, pepper, dried herbs.
Sweat off the chopped onion and garlic in evoo, add the chopped anchovies and chillies, dump in the tomatoes, season and simmer for 20 minutes. The anchovies will literally disintegrate and create a wonderful taste. Mix it all together and grate a generous helping of fresh parmesan over it.
Now for a fruit salad with the riipe mango, pears and bananas I need to use up after seeing if this Sea of Souls is any good.
ION, The Devil's Rejects is so much better than House of 1000 Corpses. You almost sympathise with the bad guys, scary and well done and even well acted in most cases.
Watched Jason X on Channel 4 last night. Oh dear but good enough to entertain on a late Friday night.
The extras on the 2 disc edition of Sin City are pretty cool, too and the extended edition separated into four chapters works better, I think.
Have also been watching a lot of ST:TOS (renting the DVDs from Lovefilm) lately. Gods, some of it was crap but some were really good, too (like Balance of Terror, for example)
Mentioning Lovefilm, I'm considering switching to ScreenSelect. They sent me two major titles in the first lot that had been sitting on the top of my Lovefilm rental queue for ages (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Devil's Rejects) and they send out TV DVDs in order (rather than randomly as Lovefilm do, even if you put them into the queue in the right order). The costs are the same (15 quid for 3 DVDs at a time, unilimited number of DVDs).
Have done some housework and whittled away at my photo backlog. More of the same tomorrow.
