Holiday Diary, Part 1

After all the hassle of not getting onto the first coach and the next one being delayed by almost 45 minutes, I made it to the check-in counter with 10 minutes to spare before advertised latest check-in. Plane was delayed by 20 minutes, though. The flight was uneventful and quiet, the queue at passport check was short and even my luggage arrived early.
Was greeted by my parents who had just made it after a horrible traffic jam due to roadworks, loaded the car and off we went. No traffic in our direction so the way home was quick.
It was fantastic to see how chirpy my mum was, enthusiastically telling me about the roadtrips they had taken this year, their upcoming Antarctic cruise and all the plans for refurbishing the house (e.g. new kitchen, windows) and all the new recipes she recently tried. Only a year ago, during her depressive phase, it was hard for her to even think about what to cook the next day...
Was in bed by 2.
Friday:
Part 1
Got up a bit before 11 to the sound of rain from my window. The Wiesenfest starts tonight but I'm not too enthused when it's raining.
Not ideal for taking photos, either. Let's hope this will get better next week.
Weather cleared up at 5pm but too late to walk into town for photos.
Will probably head to the fair after dinner. If it's not raining, I'll take my camera to take some night shots of the rides and things.
