An end of an era
24 Oct 2004 05:24 pmI seem to have shut down my comp before posting this last night so I'm trying to recreate it:
Yesterday were the last two Camarilla games in Cambridge.
Changeling:
Despite there being only three PCs, the last game was wonderful, intense and scary, as so many others before. However, Sam and Sarah got away (where to exactly, nobody knows but we hope somewhere nice), just in time before the Near Dreaming around Cambridge was pretty much obliterated.
Many many thanks to
andrewdavies and
sesquipedality for setting up and running this great game for over three years. There were highs and lows, tears of joy and sadness/despair, danger and adventure and all the really odd bits only a Changeling game can have.
Vampire:
Due to no fault of the STs, the last game was a bit of a let-down but we still got nice ends to our characters, both very fitting in my case.
The game started back in the mists of time in March 1999 when I was left with the shards of a virtually independent game the then STs had run into the ground. With the help of
raggedy_man and
robinbloke I managed to bring up attendance numbers and bring the game into the folds of the Camarilla UK. After three years I had burned out and stepped down.
twentypence immediately stepped up to take over, someone I had had in mind, anyway. Paul had just lost his longterm character which meant there was no conflict of interests. Over the last two years Cambridge C/a continued to be a great game, even if attendance numbers dropped but that was mainly due to too many other games being out there at the same time.
Many many thanks to
twentypence,
robinbloke,
andrewdavies and all the players who made this game great.
And now the fools have agreed to run the Requiem game from January...
