I got home from work, made a sandwich, changed, packed my bag and set off.
The first hurdle was waiting for the bus: half an hour for a bus that's supposed to come every 10 mins, which meant I would have been a little too late for the 7:45 train I wanted to take. Grabbed a card for [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona of [livejournal.com profile] raggedy_man and looked a bit dumbfounded at the departure screen like quite a lot of people in the station. The first train to Kings X was due at 20:06, orginally planned to depart at a bit before 7, the next train to Liverpool St. equally delayed by an hour or so.
So I took the one to Kings X which obviously was a stopping train. I later found out that the delay was due to a "fatality on the track".

On my way past Kings X, I randomly ran into [livejournal.com profile] cryx who was there with friends, assumingly waiting for others. Found the Water Rats by cunningly following three goths, got in, tried to find my way around and ran into [livejournal.com profile] imnotagoth and [livejournal.com profile] wildrogue. Found the corner in which [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona and cohorts were hiding and had a beer.
B-Movie isn't bad, the venue is a pub with a back room housing the dancefloor bit. In total, it's not much bigger than the Kambar with a larger dancefloor but similar crap lighting and OK sound. The advantage is that the pub bit is reasonably quiet as the music is concentrated in the back room.
Apart from the usual suspects and [livejournal.com profile] olethros, I ran into [livejournal.com profile] _nicolai_, [livejournal.com profile] nisaba, [livejournal.com profile] duranorak, Andy P, Aaron, and er, (short Scottish ex-Cammie, used to play a Toreador, damn my name memory), [livejournal.com profile] winterthing, [livejournal.com profile] cobraprime and girlfriend, Matt Ross (LJ?), [livejournal.com profile] wyldcard, [livejournal.com profile] vampwillow and others.

[livejournal.com profile] _nicolai_ told me that the Liverpool St. line delay had been due to a broken down freight train as well as some insight into what "signalling failure" meant, i.e. not necessarily faults with the signalling system but more likely human error e.g. someone sending a train where it shouldn't have gone...

Chatted with various people, actually drank alcohol for a change as I wasn't dancing much and had a good time chatting to people.
The glowsticks I had gotten for Rhona seem to work a treat so I'm pleased with that. :o)

After closing, [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona, [livejournal.com profile] olethros and I found a reasonably priced minicab to Evil2 and crashed.

Got up at a bit after 9, had Hobnob breakfast, mooched around until everyone was ready and headed off into London. The others had something bigger planned so I continued on my own to Camden, resisting to buy anything at Resurrection Records as it'll work out cheaper to order from infrarot but did buy a Funk compilation at the small shop in Inverness St. Had reasonable lunch at Arizona (last time was *much* better) and made my way back to Kings X.
Didn't have to wait too long for a train home which was thankfully a nonstop service. Took bus into town, listened to a random band playing cool music, managed not to buy too much at Fopp, almost got run over by a bus, ran into an ex-colleague who I hadn't seen for four years or more and who now has a little kid and finally got home.

Looking for some dinner now and then I'm off to [livejournal.com profile] raggedy_man's for chilling and things.
