A slightly more cheery post
25 Sep 2004 03:13 pmStar Wars last night was good. I didn't stay for all of it as I didn't feel well (still have the sniffles) but watched Hope and Empire.
Loads of people were there:
scylla (who didn't recognise me because I wasn't dressed as a goth) and
drpyrojames,
adove and
musingsofallama,
davywavy,
crag_du,
andrewdavies,
necro_angel and a friend (LJ?) and another Andy.
There were Bantha Buns, edible Ewoks, edible Leia hair, Yoda Soda (nice but a bit too much sugar for my taste), yummy Death Star pizza, Han Burgers with Blaster sauce and various other snacks.
robinbloke's huge TV and 5.1 sound system made the whole experience very enjoyable and the heckling just added to the fun.
What bugged me a bit was the differences in audio quality of the dialogues which would sometimes change from cut to cut. They did so much to the material, one would have thought they could have cleaned that up (most annoying in the scene with Leia and Moff Tarkin when they blow up Alderaan).
The only new thing that bugged me was the changing of Boba Fett's voice. OK, he doesn't say much but I'm sure Jeremy Bulloch isn't happy.
I really need to borrow the extras disc, the bits I've seen were quite interesting.
I'm glad I went even when feeling crap but after that day at work I needed distraction.
