Despite my best intentions I didn't do much on Saturday, just got ready and headed off to Oxford with
clawboy42 for
taimatsu's Birthday party. We found the pub straight away as well as a place to park which was an advantage. Grabbed a drink (nice ales) and waited for the others.
The party came and we help set up and set out the food. I handed over the "Live Parrot" (orginal Norwegian Blue, lovely plumage, likes to sleep on its back).
Apart from Lucy and her housemates, there was Janet,
chrisvenus and Tristrum, so a rather small party but much fun was had. First, we kept rearranging the letters on Lucy's T-Shirt and then listened to silly music and chatted.
After closing time, we moved to the house and carried on there, drinking champagne, chatting and listening to more silly music. We found out that Janet actually lives in Cambridge and hangs out with the goths (
razornet etc.) there.
At about 1 o'clock we headed off as Craig and I were staying at
lanfykins'.
Thanks to a drunken navigator, I managed to lose my way and we ended up in the deepest pampa for a while but found our way back to civilisation rather quickly. We got lost in Cholsey again, but a phone call to Sarah cleared things up.
Arrived, tried not to stumble over cats and played Rogue Leader a bit before crashing out on a nice double bed.
Got up at about 11, only to find Craig playing silly games.
Paul and Sarah cooked us a nice fry-up, then more Rogue Leader before I headed off back home. Quite uneventful, until I reached Duxford on the M11: I drove past this. Lots of police and blinking lights and a f*****ing jet plane on the southbound carriageway!! I almost stopped to take a photo but quickly decided against it. If that had happened when I was going past there...
Route home was quick, picked up crossover cable and relaxed.
