I think I'm in a bad movie...

When I heard about the news from NYC this afternoon, I first wouldn't believe it. The front page of the CNN site had a couple of lines and a photo on it. I thought it was hacked and somebody put a fake picture on it (no problem to do these days). Some surfing later it became apparent that it really happened.

Soon later I had serious thoughts about how the US would be reacting and I had visions of war...
It felt like back when I woke up to the radio one Monday morning, and they played "Eve of Destruction" and I knew the Gulf war had started.

The #cam-ooc channel was a mixed bag. Most were truly concerned and I appreciate the efforts some are organising to donate blood, supplies and money. But then there were some patriotic *******s. I felt sick. I can't believe they're talking about war and a certain member boasting about his achievements in the Gulf.

This was a terrorist attack, quite likely the worst that was ever committed in history but there is no reason why a country should be targeted. Find out who's responsible, get them and prosecute them. Lock them up for eternity (I don't support capital punishment, either). That's it.

But now, help the victims, clean up and then make sure something like this will never happen again. Security on domestic flights in the US are a joke, apparently, according to a BBC reporter in the US. Why didn't they notice that the planes left their flight paths?

Well, I'm preparing for the full cavity body search when I fly to ICC next month...
