nevla for the lift!) from a very tiring but fantastic day taking photos of gorgeous people.
Got up at the unearthly hour of 5:30 (after having finally gone to bed around midnight) to be picked up bynevla and get directed to Hackney by Eddie Izzard. We were actually first at the venue but gothindulgence in a car with davefish and others turned up soon so we went in and inspected The Roost. What a venue! Similar setup to The Perch but I think a bit bigger with more and bigger rooms with HUGE windows for lots of natural light and filled a huge selection of random furniture and wallpaper. There's also a basement with more furniture, huge letters spelling CASH on one wall, a gurney, a huge bed and some other bits and pieces. No light, though, and only few of the downlighters worked so you needed artificial light. As we were driving, I had brought along my mini lighting kit and got some cool results with nevla down there as well as upstairs by one of the window.
Next up wasdruidess1982's bloke who claims he'd never modeled before but did an awesome job and was really eager to do stuff. Such a pleasure to work with. The fantastic druidess1982 then joined him and we did a number of couple photos from romantic to the downright intense, resulting in hopefully some of my best images to date (as with the other sets).
After a lunch break filled with goat curry from the local Carribean takeaway, my Greek friend Maria and her long time best friend Ruth turned up and I did various sets with M and even a few with R who I managed to convince that one can take good photos of her. R also assisted with the rest of M's pictures holding a reflector helpfully lent to me bydavefish (because I had been stupid and left mine at home).
It was a great day and lovely to meetgothindulgence, surje, casilda, maleghast and marchosias444 as well as those not on LJ (like Rob and Geoff).
I have a metric shitload to go through so results will take a while so watch this space.
