karohemdI just stopped watching In the Name of the King - A Dungeon Siege Tale, not quite an hour in because I couldn't face another hour (yes, it's over two hours long) of this drivel.
Thing is, it actually looks rather lush with reasonable production values and the fights aren't too bad, either but it's just boring as all hell and I still don't quite know what the plot is actual about. Not even Ron Perlman can save this one and he's one of those actors who usually do (like Lance Henriksen, although he's lost his touch a bit recently). At least I've only wasted a Lovefilm slot and haven't spent actual money on it.
That's it, I'm not giving him another chance and have signed the petition. Stop Boll!

Date: 22/8/08 11:01 pm (UTC)I've only seen one (Alone in the Dark), and I'm doing a good job of avoiding the others. I mean, I love crappy films, but his stuff is just completely turgid, from what I can tell. Don't encourage him.

Date: 23/8/08 08:21 am (UTC)Even though his films are all terrible, they're not boring. And I truly believed that Ed Wood loved films and loved making them. It's just that he had no talent for it.
Whereas Boll is clearly just a cynical hack who's in it for the money. He's certainly not the only one currently working in films with that attitude, but he seems to exemplify the breed.
