Key scenes of Metropolis found
They found a complete director's cut of the Fritz Lang classic in Buenos Aires. I hope they'll be able to restore it all.
I'm amazed that it's still there at all, I thought the material used for films those days didn't actually have that long a natural lifespan, even when just sitting on a shelf for over half a century.

Date: 3/7/08 08:17 pm (UTC)One of my favourite films, if not my favourite. I've got the last remaster of it, and it's wonderful. But I was so upset to realise I was missing out on the scene where the children are rescued - the couple of stills showing it make it look fantastic!
Looking forward to an eventual full release now...
