It was raining so hard that I realised I would be completely drenched from the waist down after a block or two so didn't make it to Beale Street and not even the nearest restaurant so I got into the car and drove randomly towards Midtown where I found a random diner type place (had in mind to go to Tsunami but that was full) where I had a Caesar Salad with blackened catfish and really yummy hushpuppies. I didn't really have room for dessert but couldn't resist the pecan pie. OMG, and I'm glad I did eat it, best pie in ages. It was warm, crunchy on the outside, gooey on the inside and the generous scoop of vanilla icecream complemented it wonderfully. Yummy yummy food at small prices.

I'm sad that I'm missing another evening of music but this way, I can pack, write those postcards, update my diary/travel blog and get to bed early. Another long of driving tomorrow and then an evening chez martinhesselius (or somewhere around town, I suspect).
