Mentioning cathedrals

Just remembered a conversation with someone in the queue on Saturday evening. The woman mentioned that her husband(?) had been involved in restoration work of St. Alban's Cathedral and that there was an accident during which a worker fell off the roof and was quite badly injured. During his investigation it turned out that exactly 100 years earlier somebody had fallen to their death which led me to suspect that the Cathedral demanded a sacrifce every 100 years, which - much to my surprise - got me laughs instead of shocked silence. ;o)

Yes - did you see George Basevi's grave? He designed the Fitzwilliam Museum entrance halls, which is the most gloriously OTT building in Cambridge. Then he fell out of the West Tower at Ely, with predicatble consequences...
