Wildlife Photographer of the Year

I've finally been persuaded to take part in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition run by the Natural History Museum. Previously, I had shied away from paying £20 just for taking part but now I decided I have enough disposable income to take that loss.
I entered three images from my Antarctic cruise:


in the "Animal Portaits" category


in the "Animals in their environment" category and


in the "Animal Behaviour: Birds" category.

No! That's crazy and awesome at the same time! If there's one thing you don't want to do in Antarctica it's getting bitten by a seal because their mouths and teeth contain an incredibly horrible poisonous and infectious cocktail of nasty bacteria that can kill you within a few days...
