Watched it last night on rented DVD and it was OK. More of the same with a twist you saw a long time coming but well done in the looks (a house like that would be awesome to play a close quarters RPG in) and gore effects departments.

After cooking tonight, I'll watch some more BSG and then have an early night. Tomorrow evening is KD (and a yet unfound support band or not) at the MotM and then weekend!! Which will be spent at home being productive, although I might walk down to the Haymakers for some Blues.

I don't know where this rumour about AOD at the MotM came from. They were pencilled in at one point, but at the moment it's just us playing.

Ah, I picked it up from somewhere but can't remember where.

I thought that Saw II was by no means the worst sequel I've seen, and the re-use of the victim from the first film was rather neat. The design of the house, as you say, was rather good, and the traps were suitably unpleasant. Heck, I've even seen worse acting. It just lacked anything to make it particularly memorable (no equivalent to the corpse-getting-up scene in the first, or the sheer horror of seeing Cary Elwes).

I think you mean it lacked the "fuck me..." moment.

That works, too.

Also, while I think about it: why did loony killer man need to kill people to get their numbers - rather than, say, just asking them?

Because he was a loony killer?
