A question to all those of you who know cool costuming sites:

[livejournal.com profile] eryx_uk is looking for a good (and most likely reasonably priced) site for 1920 style costumes for a Cthulhu LARP.

Any ideas? You can either post here or shoot Colin a direct comment.

Many thanks in advance!

I'd be *very* intersted in any answers to that question as well, as I'd love a nice proper 20-40s outfit that's not my tux.

Eagerly awaits answer as well. There's just not the resource on the net that there should be. That or I don't know what to search for. Was having real problems looking for sources for 18th Century stuff.

Surely somewhere someone's digitised a load of contempory art haven't they?

There's http://www.zootsuitstore.com but that's more gangster than contemporary and in the US. Those suits rock, though.

Thanks, I've marked it. Not usually into 30s and 40s but getting more and more into costume so it'll be a good reference.

Really want an idiots guide to costume, without having to buy a book! Cheapskate

Sutlers, but they're not cheap, and they tend to have a gap around 1900-1945 :/

http://www.sutlers.co.uk/acatalog/index.html

is the link though, and might be a start.

I know about Sutlers who are nice indeed (I looked at some of their stuff for Tombstone last year but gave up on their prices) but as you say, they don't really cover the time period in question. They might also go a bit over Colin's budget.
Thanks, anyway!

You can try these folks:
http://www.madworld-fancy-dress.co.uk/costumes/1920-60.htm

also Blackout Vintage, though they are a bit pricey and a bit mad, off Covent garden next to Coffee Cake & Kink. It's a jampacked place and finding things depends upon the sisters mood of the day, but they do have some real treasures there.

I've not found any good 1920s stuff out there, and hence will be making stuff for my next game that needs it.

That's sadly not an option for many people.
