And the streets were empty
15 Jun 2006 07:33 pmWhen I drove home from work at a quarter past five I only twigged that there had been a lot less traffic than there should have been at that time of day. Then it dawned on me that football was on. After getting in my vegbox, peeling a few potatoes and putting them in the microwave to steam, I switched on the telly out of curiosity and it was still 0-0. They actually managed two goals after that.
I actually hope both Germany and England come first in their respective groups, not because I think Germany would lose (both are rather crap atm and I wouldn't care either way) but because it might avoid any violent clashes between "fans" on both sides.
Dinner was a sort of vegetarian hash (onions, garlic, fresh mushrooms and potatoes fried in the pan) and lovely it was, too.
