My weekend

Friday
Slept in too long. Thought about getting up earlier to do things but decided I should take all the sleep I could get, considering the party/gaming weekend ahead. Due to a CBA attack, the room didn't get cleared out of junk as I wanted but I got some laundry done and I don't have anything that can go mouldy. It's just a load of books, papers and things strewn all around the place.
After updated my characters and packing, I set off to [livejournal.com profile] dreamingchristi's 15 minutes late but she wasn't quite ready, either, so that didn't matter. Traffic through the majority of Cambridge was OK, we just got stuck in a jam on Trumpington Rd. Got to Harson with no problems and picked up [livejournal.com profile] clawboy42, then off to St. Neots to pick up [livejournal.com profile] wyrdness. We had some problems following [livejournal.com profile] mageanst's directions (but he's excused as he's a non-driver) but a phonecall sorted that.

Unloaded the car and sat down in Steve's rather nice flat, chatted, then went off to Tesco's for food and last minute party supplies.
[livejournal.com profile] andrewdavies and [livejournal.com profile] zenmeisterin were late due to train power cables being broken by the wind but they turned up eventually, so did Kevin H, Seth, [livejournal.com profile] johnnyargles and [livejournal.com profile] chrisvenus.
We played some Lunch Money which was good fun.
When the convo turned from C stuff to C sh*t, I dragged Seth and Chris into the kitchen and we played Fluxx and Chez Geek (Chris with one hilarious card combo: Corporate Drone with Raise, and Bong, Shrooms, Pizza, Beer, Bubble Blower and Gummi Worms).
Finally crashed out about 3 ish, I think but couldn't sleep properly due to a combination of Kev snoring and Craig moving around and me having had too much alcohol (not being drunk but enough to not calm me down enough).

All in all it was a good, mellow party. The Dippadoom went completely but I still have almost all of the Amarula. Kev brought some (surprisingly) very nice US beer called Samuel Adams lager which I now have a dozen bottles of as nobody wanted them ;o)

Saturday
Got up about 10:30 ish, had Nutella baguette breakfast and was happy.
While Steve, Kev and Seth went off to the Sabbat game, we got lunch from Tesco's and spend the afternoon watching videos: Gross Point Blank (Don't kill anybody) and Chasing Amy.

Went to the C/A game which wasn't bad at all for P'boro standards, didn't get involved much and just observed from the sidelines.

Got back to Steve's, bought some nice Chinese takeaway and just sat around chatting til about 2 or so. This time, I slept brilliantly and felt really refreshed in the morning.

Sunday
Got up at about 11, burned some toast and had breakfast.
Started packing our things together and went off to the Mage game.

That game was fun with my shy character sitting in the corner and either doing his stuff or just sitting there and listening to the others bitch at each other. Heh.

Walked back to Steve's, packed the car and set off for Cambridge with Christi, Andy, Lucy and Craig in heavy rain. Thankfully, traffic wasn't too bad so we got to St. Neots in good time.
Stopped over at Lucy's to say Hi to Pooka (and mum and Evil Bob) and then dropped off the others.
Got home, put on PEVC 2, rewarmed the nice Indian takeaway I hadn't quite finished at lunch, sat down and wrote this.

My quote file is still in the car, I'll add them tomorrow (as well as upload the photos).

Heresy!

Samuel Adams is evil. It is true!!! I have consulted with the beer monster and its the truth.

Know the foulness that is American beer...apart from some, SOME, of the micro-brewery stuff, which tastes something like home brew...

I don't like US beers, but this one was surprisingly good...

its nasty, wstery, and fizzy - beer should not be watery, and NEVER fizzy....

And thats the bottom line....cos Fat Bloke said so...

Married men should NEVER eat Dippadoom.

Sunday night, Mel was still gasping away from me because of the garlic on my breath.

At least, I assume it was the Dippadoom.

Easy solution: bring her along or take some home with you next time.
