Last night, I made one of my favourite childhood snacks: fresh carrots, roughly grated and sprinkled with sugar. Let sit for a while and eat with a spoon. I'm munching the last of last week's carrots now. Another bag today.
Why weird? Carrots are very sweet to start with so you just add a little sweetness more. I don't like carrots in savoury food much because of the sweetness.
I never got the hang of different sugars because I don't bake and generally don't use much. I think the last half pound bag of caster sugar lasted me well over a year...
*nods* I did a lot more baking when I wasn't relegated to a little 'toaster' oven - our big one died. The little one is fine for most things, but you can never turn the grill off, so it's too difficult to bake with.

That sounds like a really quick way to illness to me. I'm really allergic to carrots.
(although, to be fair, before I was, I probably would have eaten that sort of thing. I'll stick sugar in anything :o) )
