TV

I saw the live action Simpsons opening sequence on Sky One earlier as a trailer.

Either this wasn't a fan thing, commissioned by Sky and leaked on the net a few weeks early or it was and Sky bought it.

Heh. We did one of these a few years ago on a holiday I used to run, with teenagers. I'll dig it out sometime

That would be cool! :o)

Either way, it was fairly impressive

And I like that they kept true to the original.

Is it me, or is Lisa being played by a young [livejournal.com profile] wildrogue? :)

Hehe, you could be right. :o)

According to an unreliable source, it was commissioned by Sky...

I'm sure at at least one point in the film they producers have not taken into account the side we drive on over here (either that or "Homer" is driving a US car...

*I think*

I knew something was wrong. Just watched it again and Homer drives what looks like an old Rover but with left-hand steering and Marge a volvo with right-hand steering. Tiny detail, though. The detail I could have done without was Homer's builder's bum.

Yeah I know, I was just nitpicking.

Funnily enough I must have watched it pretty intently to notice that about the cars but must have zoned out when Homers arse came on screen.

It's called a defense mechanism. ;o)

If I remember correctly from when I saw this on TV the other day, it's a Lada, not a Rover.

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2006-03-15 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I bow to your superior knowledge of cars.
It's definitely a crap car. ;o)
That said, the Lada Nova is a superb and nigh indestructible 4x4. It might look shit and not be very comfy but it can deal with anything. All you need is a potato.

[identity profile] stealthracer.livejournal.com 2006-03-15 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
You are probably talking about a Lada Niva (not Nova). I apologise for pedantry. :-p

D'oh, yes you're right. I really shouldn't type today. Good thing my actual work today is being proofread...
