Theres some beautiful language there, isn't there...? I've been considering a car-puter for a while, but I don't think the mini is quite right for the job, its too big and probably too delicate (I've not taken it apart yet to see the damping on HD housing - not good, I suspect, which no problem in a stationary setting). The main thing thats putting me off is power supply - it would have to be tweaked so it didn't brown-out with the starter motor. And the fact I'll likely change car soon-ish.

The power supply should be the least problem. My car stereo is set up so it stays on even if the ignition is off so that should work, too.

dipping power like that isn't good for things like hard disks, it drops the nominal 12v (normally closer to 14) down to 10v during starting, it can be worked around, smoothed over, but the power supplies for doing it aren't mature yet. Wait a year and it'll be easy.
