[Photo] Berlin preview

It wasn't easy to pick just a few (21 in total) because I have many i really like and want to show. I also have a few that show lack of concentration/tiredness (angles/framing) as I still wasn't feeling 100% fit but all in all, I've come up with some nice results, I think. So here we go:

Haus Schwarzenberg

Fernsehturm

Ostkreuz

Brandenburg Gate

Reichstag/Bundestag

Inside the dome

Holocaust memorial

from within

It's well worth it and easy to get around, too.
The public transport system is superb with a wide and frequent coverage, runs 24/7 (at a reduced service after midnight) and you can get handy 48 or 72 hour passes, the latter costing about 15quid which gives you unlimited use within all of Berlin.
Compared to the UK, restaurants are really cheap, even at tourist hotspots. I haven't looked at hotel accommodation but I doubt it's that expensive, either, (unless you want to stop over at the Adlon directly by the Brandenburg Gate).

I think we will be looking for a hostel somewhere!

A nice selection, the holocaust memorial and inside the reichstag? dome pictures stand out for me - compositionally very sound and strong, crisp contrast. Looks like the weather was against you for some of the outside shots.. damn clouds :D

Thank you!

Those were the photographically most interesting bits for me, too and the main reasons I wanted to go, actually. You could spend a whole day at the memorial as it's in a vast open space and light and shadows will change constantly as the sun moves.
It had literally just stopped raining and the sun had come through when I took those.
More to come.

*nods* a bit unfortunate, that, but it could have been worse and rained all the time.
