[Cooking] [Photos] The Naked Chef Strikes Again

Yes, it's summer (or at least feels like it) and I cooked like in that icon. After the fish and meat indulgence over the last two evenings, I fancied some traditional grub so made a pan of Kaiserschmarrn. It was very yummy.
I had run out of fresh fruit so I had those wonderful cherries in cherry liqueur I'd found at the greengrocer in Arbury Court on the side. Rather strong but oh so yummy.

What is Kaiserschmarrn and how do you make it?

Basically a big fluffy pancake ripped into pieces.

Heh, 'tis the season - I made myself a big plateful (plus currants-cooked-with-apples) the other day :)

Excellent!
Do you make it only on the cooker or do you transfer it to the oven halfway through? I can't fit my big pan in my small grill so I don't.

So that's what my friend Mac's Hungarian fiancee was talking about when she tried to explain 'smarni' to us on Shrove Tuesday! Sounds lovely.

Heh. It is lovely, especially when you get it right and it's crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, but not for the calory-conscious!
