Rubbish MP3 poetry meme

Put your player on shuffle and write down the first lines of each song to form a poem:

Blow Wind Blow
The Marine Corps does not want robots (sample)
She's in denial
Well if I could I surely would

Sie war ja so loyal
I'm going to San Bernardino ringadingding
When the machine breaks down (sample)
Would've been better for us both had we never

Well my pad is very messy
There's a place for us
I met a girl and we ran away
Ich bau dir ein Schloss

Für immer und immer und immer
It's 3:20 am, there's a party going on
Stone warnings on the radiogram
Ich bin auf der Flucht

There's not a street you cannot walk
Die Schwerkraft ist überbewertet
Had a fight with my daughter
My God sits in the back of the limousine

So, dear f-list, what were the songs?

I spotted NIN: Starfuckers, Inc. and Rammstein: Stein um Stein.

No wait, I didn't stop the Rammstein song - there's a line there that's a line from it, but it ain't the first line.

Heh, almost. It's "Haus" and "Häuschen" in Stein um Stein, not "Schloss".

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
One point.

[identity profile] von-geisterhand.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ich höre ein leichtes, leises Säuseln.
(And "Starfuckers Inc.")

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2008-12-04 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Two points.

[identity profile] caseytalk.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
There's a place for us = Somewhere, West Side Story.

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
half a point. The title is right but whose version?

[identity profile] caseytalk.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
LOL!! Um, I dunno. Hum it for me?

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
I could groan/croak it and still wouldn't be able to emulate that voice. Hint: [livejournal.com profile] pmoodie most likely has that version, too.

[identity profile] caseytalk.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm going to assume it's not the original cast version, as you wouldn't have asked if it were. Tom Waits? TBH, I don't know much about your taste in music or Paul's.

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
My musical taste isn't really quantifiable and at best described as eclectic. ;o) Just in the list above you have everything from traditional American country music to obscure modern electronica.
Tom Waits is spot on.

[identity profile] pmoodie.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
I certainly do! And it's a fabulous version! :)

[identity profile] whiskeylover.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
The third verse actually works as a rhyme :)

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 09:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I thought. ;)

[identity profile] pmoodie.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
Good to start with a bit of Tom. :)

And your song has a nice multi-lingual flavour, with those bursts of German. I don't understand them, but they give a flavour!

There are two Tom Waits tracks in the list, actually (his cover of Somewhere is further down) so one point to you.
*grins* I would have had some Latin and Middle High German, too but I skipped them because I can't transcribe them. (Middle High German is a very different language to modern German).

Pet Shop Boys & Kylie - In Denial
Neue Heimat - Ich bau dir ein Schloß
PeterLicht - Lied gegen die Schwerkraft

das nur os ohne nachzudenken. NIN hätt' ich natürlich auch gewusst. und bei "there's a place for us" war meine erste assoziation Queen - Who Wants To Live Forever, aber da heißt's "there's no place for us". schade! :)

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2008-12-05 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
