Dragonmeet

Got up an hour earlier than during the week(!), drove to the station and ran into the first lot of usual suspects (Sheila and Neil). I wonder what other people on the (almost 15 minutes delayed) train thought when we all unpacked unusual books making notes and writing character sheets for our respective games. ;o)
Bloody Circle line was closed around Kings Cross so we had to detour via Victoria but that wasn't too bad. The next familiar faces were Sue and Roger at the tube station and then [livejournal.com profile] sje2 in the queue.
Got in, handed over my sign-up sheet and wandered around the trade hall a bit.

The Bad: ONE person signed up for Midway City so it didn't happen. :o(

The Good: Played Paula Dempsey's and [livejournal.com profile] gbsteve's Billy Bunter's Christmas Hamper freeform which was a lot of fun and featured loads of familar faces from the freeform crowd.
After a brief break of wandering around and taking a few photos, it was [livejournal.com profile] spencerpine's All Creatures Crazed and Feral freeform. Sharing almost all of the players from the previous game and a complete newbie to LARP/freeform who turned to be very good at it.
I don't want to tell too much about either game in case they want to run them again somewhere.
The charity auction was the last item on my list and I only spent 55 quid (some Rik Martin art and a Pirate card game with a Deliria supplement that sounded interesting), quite a lot less than I usually spend but finances have been a bit tight recently and two things I wanted went way beyond my budget (total of 150).

Trade Hall haul was: My Life with Master, Kill Puppies for Satan (annotated edition), The Book of Unremitting Horrors and the Call of Cthulhu silent movie DVD (which I'm going to watch now!)
Photos tomorrow.

It was nice to bump into you. We were interested in the Bunter LARP but it was full by the time we got there!

Same here! :o)

The Dempsey LARPs tend to go quickly, especially when loads of freeformers are about.

The Bunter LARP was full? We were two players short and had to drag people of the street to make even those numbers. Paula ended up playing a character herself. Still, we're likely to run it again so maybe next time.

Er, the signup sheet looked full when we saw it. Maybe that didn't actually translate into players! I'll definitely look out for you next time, and maybe I'll have found my school tie by then :)
