[Cambridge] Anime at the Arts Picturehouse

Howl's Moving Castle is at the Arts Picturehouse from this Friday. It's by the same team as Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away (among others).
Anyone want to join me? Monday or Thursday would be good for me. I probably won't be back in time on Sunday to make it a [livejournal.com profile] camgothfilmclub outing.

I saw that on Sunday in Hampstead after Slimelight as they were doing a free showing for 160 people (similar to your posts about this Firefly spinoff). Definately worth watching :)

Would love to watch it but it's in that awful english language version ;)

I do prefer to watch Studio Ghibli in the original Japanese with subtitles (it seems to work better) ;)

I think a lot of the director's stuff is now being re-packaged for the English market after how well Spirited Away did. Any idea if this is a new production?

Would like to go see it, but I really won't know if I'm able to until next week (depends wildly on how far this project is. Though if it's not done by (next) Thursday something's gone seriously wrong)

Nope, the Arts Picturehouse shows the English language version in the afternoons and the subtitled one in the evenings.

AFAIK, it is a new one.

*nods* Sure, job goes first.
It will probably be on for a while but possibly not too long (at least not at the Arts).

Its based on a kids book (Dianna Wynn Jones, she did the Merlin Conspiracy) so not quite the normal Ghibli, but was picked up by Disney to distribute after the Spirited Away success. Definately a new one and should be good.

Ooo... now i am tempted :)

Oooh. Definitely interested, I remember the book :) Wonder if I can persuade [livejournal.com profile] sevenstring..

Either day should be fine for me, I think.

Cool.
Are by any chance a member and could book cheaper tickets?
Considering I'll probably still be knackered from Manchester on Monday, Thursday would be better for me.
Times are a bit awkward (18:10 and 20:40) but I could make both.

Nope, neither me nor M I'm afraid.

I prefer later film times since it gives me time to eat beforehand - I'm useless on low blood sugar.

OK, Thursday (29th, not this week) 20:40 it is, then.
Let me know if M can make it and I'll wait til the end of this week before booking in case some more people want to join.
