The game pie/scotch egg starter was rather substantial, huge in fact. The other courses were typically sized for a tasting menu which is the whole point. You're not eating this meal to fill your belly but to enjoy the flavours, textures and craft or, in many cases, art. I think I lost out a bit on the main (my piece of meat was definitely smaller than others') but this was no reason and definitely not the occasion to complain. I was quite stuffed by the end of it (probably helped by the wine) and didn't need much today. I still have half of the sandwich I bought for lunch.
