Yes, you do, I think there would be lots of things for you to discover. Unfortunaltey, there was a service on when I got there so I couldn't get many shots inside (and search for the Green Men, for example).
It's impressive. I want to do the tour at one point as you then get to see areas that otherwise aren't easily accessible. Despite living less than half an hour's drive away, I only seem to be getting there when I'm playing tourist guide.
Das war der Sinn der Sache. :o) Die farbige Version war ein bisschen langweilig und bei Schwarzweiß kann man mehr mit Kontrast und Schatten machen, damit's besser wirkt.
It's typical, though, you tend to avoid these things when you actually live there. The first time I was inside Nuremberg Castle was when I visited with robinbloke, and I had lived there for six years.
ps. did they perform in the Lady Chapel? It's so beautiful in there. I went there once when it was really empty and no one was supervising it so I spent about 20 minutes lying on the floor on my back watching the ceiling in the silence.
Yes, they did. It was a great setting as the evening sun shone directly onto the stage/altar steps. Unfortunately, I spent most of the intermission queueing for a CD so didn't get a chance to look around much. I really need to go back on a quiet day, it's less than half an hour from mine so I have really no excuse not to visit again.
Unfortunately it is a bit of a weird place to get to. But one day I have to go just so I can say I have been to every cathedral in the country (it's a project I'm working on)!
Neat. The spot where you took the shot of the West Tower end-on (ie just beyond the cannon) is about fifty feet from where I'll be pratting about in a toga for the next four nights - just over the wall and into the gardens beyond.
The Lantern Tower is just acrioss the road from where I'm typing this too...
*sharp intake of breath* oh wow the black and white one... just, wow. I like the 'light on the tiled floor too, but that looking up and the sky and, just wow.
and remember what i said - get yourself on one of the tours! The West Tower tour takes you pretty much just up to the top of the tower where you can see the surround countryside really well. The Octagon tour takes you through lots of corridors and little hidden areas and has some great little photo opportunities :)

The original was quite bland so I figured it would look better in black and white with the contrast cranked up.
