"egg jarping is springing up all over the world"? We've been doing this for generations as well. I have no idea how old the tradition is in Germany (or at least the part I'm from) but I was taught this by my grandparents when I was little so it's definitely not something new outside County Durham. Please do some research before making claims.

On the subject, what are your (or your famliy's) (odd) Easter traditions involving eggs? We also play "Huchern", i.e. throw hard-boiled, dyed eggs as high up as possible and whose egg breaks is the loser. This is usually played in the garden or a big grassy field where there are no hard surfaces otherwise this would be rather silly.
